About

Yao Tsakpo
Photography, for me, is an act of attention. It is a deliberate pause that allows what is usually overlooked to come into focus. Each image is less about capturing a scene than about preserving a moment of presence within it.
My work exists at the boundary between abstraction and recognition. I am drawn to geological strata, architectural repetition, the human form, and nocturnal or liminal spaces. These subjects feel both ancient and immediate. They resist quick reading and invite the viewer to slow down.
I work in series rather than isolated images. Each body of work is conceived as a cohesive statement, allowing ideas to unfold gradually. These are not commercial photographs, but contemplative works meant for sustained viewing. The images reveal themselves over time.
Some works are also signed under the personal name Papito as a secondary artistic signature.
